For wildlife enthusiasts there are seals in the Cromarty Firth, dolphins in the Moray Firth with boat trips available from Inverness and Cromarty. Numerous glens support herds of red deer or have a day in the Cairngorms with its herd of reindeer. Bird life is also plentiful from golden eagles to crested tits. Red squirrels come into our grounds to feed and even have their own tree to rest in afterwards.
Golfers are well catered for in the area with the local course just one mile away and the more celebrated ones at Dornoch and Nairn. Fishing of all types is readily available from river to sea and freshwater lochs. This can be arranged for you on a daily or weekly basis, so why not bring your rods. The hill walker should be in their element starting with Ben Wyvis which overshadows the village. The Forestry Commission have also provided many interesting and varied walks with one right on our door step here in Blackmuir Wood.
There are of course many distilleries to visit - need we say more, and together with a castle or two, you can enjoy the breath taking scenery which the Highlands have to offer. Whilst talking of the Highlands, its capital Inverness is only 20 miles away offering excellent retail and leisure facilities. The recently opened Eastgate Shopping Precinct is well worth a visit. From Inverness you can drive down Loch Ness until you reach Fort William and Ben Nevis.
